- Cold plasma
- Energized air. Energy is added to a gas, not heat, creating plasma that can operate near skin temperature. Also called low-temperature atmospheric-pressure plasma.
- Plasma
- Often called the fourth state of matter: a gas given enough energy that some of it becomes electrically charged. Industrial plasma is made in a vacuum at thousands of degrees; cold plasma forms at normal air pressure, at body-safe temperatures.
- NoZone Cold Plasma (NCP)
- FEAGLE’s technology, designed to keep ozone and nitrogen oxides controlled while keeping the plasma dense and steady. Making plasma can create those gases, and simply turning the plasma down weakens it.
- U-Turn Technology
- PLUNA’s patented pathway that recirculates and controls the plasma inside the head, for a dense, steady output across the treatment surface. The discharge that creates the plasma never touches the skin directly.
- Booster Gel Serum
- JOYDEW Pink Soothing Booster Gel Serum, the gel every PLUNA treatment starts with. A daily booster gel serum for hydration, soothing and moisture care; it can also be used on its own.
- CPEE
- The process behind the gel’s four botanical-derived ingredients: botanical extracts processed with cold plasma, not heat. The four are guava leaf, Baikal skullcap root, German chamomile and prickly pear stem.
- Face Mode
- Five minutes, purple light. The daily treatment across the whole face, with the General Tip.
- Line Mode
- Three minutes, green light. For expression lines around the eyes and mouth, with the General Tip, or the Narrow Tip on smaller areas.
- Spot Mode
- One minute, red light. For small, targeted areas, with the Narrow Tip held still.
- General Tip
- The tip for daily Face and Line modes, with maximum coverage. Start here.
- Narrow Tip
- The tip for Spot Mode and small, targeted areas.
- Hair & Body Tip
- The tip for the scalp, hairline, neck, chest, back and larger body areas.
- Exhaust port
- The vent at the back of PLUNA. Keep it clear; the fan runs for 5 seconds after the device stops.
- Day 5
- The point at which visible change may begin with recommended daily use. It is not a guarantee.
- Redness index
- An instrument reading of how red the skin is. Lower is calmer.
- Skin replica roughness
- Surface roughness measured from a cast of the skin, for example beside the eye or along the nasolabial fold. Lower is smoother.
- Inner skin moisture
- Water content read 2.5 millimetres below the surface, not on it. Higher is more hydrated.
- Control group
- People in a study who do not get the treatment, used for comparison. The 2024 PLUNA study had none.
- Instructions for Use
- The document that ships with PLUNA. It lists contraindications, warnings and precautions.
- ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- Quality management certifications held by PLUNA’s maker. ISO 13485 covers quality management for medical devices. They are not a medical device clearance or approval.
- FEAGLE
- The Korean plasma company in Yangsan, South Korea, founded in 2014 by Professor Kim Gyoo-cheon, that engineers PLUNA.
