Is PLUNA safe to use at home?
Short answer
PLUNA is designed for daily use at home. Its plasma operates near skin temperature (about 27°C where it meets the skin, per the manufacturer), the discharge never touches the skin directly, and treatment is designed to be free of pain and irritation. Refer to the current Instructions for Use for contraindications, warnings and precautions.
How PLUNA is designed
- No heat. PLUNA is a cold plasma device, operating near skin temperature rather than as a heat treatment.
- No direct discharge. The patented U-Turn pathway keeps the discharge that creates the plasma inside the head. It never touches the skin directly.
- Controlled ozone. Making plasma can also make ozone and nitrogen oxides. FEAGLE’s NoZone Cold Plasma technology is designed to keep them controlled while the plasma stays dense and steady.
- Tested before it ships. FEAGLE says its plasma technology is tested for cell and tissue safety by its in-house bio research team before it becomes a product, and that its design addresses heat and electric shock.
Certifications
PLUNA’s maker holds ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management certifications, and the device carries CE and EMC certification. These are quality and electromagnetic compatibility certifications. They are not a medical device clearance or approval, and PLUNA is presented as a skincare device.
Details are on PLUNA Patents.
Who should check first
- Pregnancy. Ask your doctor before use. The manufacturer advises pregnant users to avoid the abdominal area entirely and notes that skin can be more sensitive during pregnancy.
- After a professional treatment. PLUNA is designed for use after professional procedures, but responses differ. Consult the professional who treated you first.
- Retinol, vitamin C, acids and other actives. Your routine may need adjusting. Check with your skincare professional before combining potent actives with PLUNA, even products your skin usually tolerates.
- Medical conditions, implants or medication. These questions are not answered from a web page. The Instructions for Use list contraindications, warnings and precautions, and support@plunapro.com can help with product questions.
What is normal during treatment
A faint metallic scent during treatment is normal. Treatment is designed to be free of pain and irritation: keep the tip flat, glide slowly with no pressure, and use enough Booster Gel Serum that the tip never tugs.
If you experience pronounced redness, burning or irritation, stop use, and seek advice from a healthcare professional if symptoms are severe or persist. Redness is not a sign of better results.
Can I use it around my eyes?
The Quick Start guidance directs users to work around the eye and up toward the temple, then gently up to the brow. Follow the wording in your Instructions for Use.
